Skills at the Center

Skills-first tools. Real-world success.

Skills open doors. In school, at work, and at every step in between, skills are what move people forward. Our Skills at the Center Team helps you put them front and center—so the people you serve can thrive in a skills-first economy.

Skills at the Center

Why Skills?

Interpersonal skills get people jobs. Communication, collaboration, problem-solving: the “durable” or “essential” skills often decide who gets hired and who gets promoted.

Technical skills get the work done. They power the daily tasks in every kind of job.

That’s why we established the Skills at the Center Initiative. We bring 20+ years of expertise connecting what people learn in school and life to what they need at work.

How We Work With You

We team up with educators, training providers, employers, and local, regional, and statewide organizations. Together, we co-create solutions to your most urgent skills needs—so you can better serve your learners, job seekers, and employees as they navigate social and economic shifts throughout their lives.

Our frameworks and tools can be delivered through trainings or tailored to fit your needs.

Define Skills

Define Skills

Build a shared language. Use the Skills at the Center Framework to describe skills clearly in your curriculum, workforce training, or job postings.

Design for scale. Use our “Skillify” AI Bots to help you apply the framework as you update course content, assess prior learning, or rewrite job descriptions in the language of skills.

Skills Clustering Framework

Refine Skills

Highlight new opportunities. Use our Skills Clustering Framework to identify broader options from skills to careers. Help your learners, job seekers, or employees explore these with the “Skillify” Your Education/Life Experience AI Bot or custom labor market dashboards.

Measure what matters. Explore our Skills Assessment Framework and Digital Badging Options Tool to determine the right fit for your programs. Help your learners, job seekers, and employees prove the skills they’ve built in school, at work, and in life.
